Trip to Ballina 

Travelling from the Gold Coast to Sleepy Hollow for morning tea then on to Ballina Solar Train before lunch at Cherry Street Bowls Club finishing up at Ballina Naval and Maritime Museum before returning home.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

CHRISTMAS IN JULY 2023

Nearly 100 Fellow Probians from Clubs on the Gold Coast attended Christmas in July held at Nerang RSL Club.  Great food and entertainment.

ORMINSTON HOUSE 

Greeted by a volunteer   in Lavender period dress

 Tea , coffee with fresh hot    scones and cream on the verandah

57 members from various clubs traveled  to Ormiston House on the banks of Redland Bay.The House was built in 1864 for Captain Louis Hope who started  sugar cane growing in Australia He built the first  sugar  mill on the property

Toowoomba Flower Festival

Due to popular demand 2 tours to Toowoomba Flower Festival allowed over 70 Probus Members from various GoldCoast clubs to view the annual  Festival in Toowoomba. Both days started early, weather was fine and the flowers were in full bloom. As well as viewing private and public gardens Members  enjoyed 2 course lunch at the Federal Hotel. Although weary on return all agreed it was a great tour and a wonderful display.

 55 Probus Members from 8 Gold Coast clubs enjoyed the last tour of 2023 to Queensland Parliament House. After 30 minutes getting through security Members were given a personal tour by sitting member Sam O"Connor who helped to organise the day.  After question time, we were joined by Opposition Leader, David Chrisafulli and Member John Langbrock.  Morning tea was served in dining area before members enjoyed lunch at Southbank.

This proved to be a very popular tour and will be organised again n 2024.

 The building was started in 1864 and completed in 1886 at a cost of £80000.00, original estimate £20000.00
